How to Write Blog Posts That Rank on Google

Writing a good blog post that will keep your audience engaged is important. However, to gain more readers, you should make sure that your blog post is ranking on Google. In order to ensure that your article ranks on Google, you first need to understand search engine optimization (SEO) from Miami SEO.

SEO is typically described as “a set of practices designed to improve the appearance and positioning of web pages in organic search results.” The goal of SEO is to create ways for your page to be discovered and gain traffic. Most bloggers have a checklist of specific things to do before publishing their articles. One of the most prominent things that are done before hitting publish is making sure that a certain keyword is used several times. Other things considered are adding photos, using hyperlinks, and using alt tags.

Now that you understand the gist of SEO, I will tell you a few of the ways that you can write a great blog post that will rank on Google. It is a simple process that you can start by following these five steps.

1. Select a great topic and use great keywords

With so many websites and blog posts on the internet, it is crucial that you select a great topic that will stand out. It is also important that you select a topic and keywords that others are more likely to look up on Google. Do some research and see what is popular on search engines. Then, think hard about how you can tweak the topic and keywords to stand out.

For example, instead of trying to rank for social media marketing, write about something like internet-based marketing. Social media marketing has a lot of competition on Google, so it will be hard to rank on the first page. However, if you focus on something similar that is not as competitive, you will have a much better chance of ranking on Google. Be sure to use your keywords several times, so that your blog shows up for individuals searching for that topic.

2. Make Sure that You Write Well and Enough

This is very important because the quality of your writing matters a lot. You cannot simply write an average 400-word article and expect it to rank high on Google. Instead, you need to make sure that you are writing in-depth and representing the topic you are covering well. My personal recommendation is to write at least 800 to 1,000 words on each blog post, include an introduction, and summarize all the key points that you are making.

Keep in mind that you do not have to use big words when you are writing an article, but you do need to write to an audience that includes everyone. Make sure that you are not leaving anyone out that may not have background or experience in the topic you are writing about because some people who are reading your posts are simply interested in learning. In addition, my advice is to use smaller paragraphs, good formatting, and nice sentence structures. This will keep your readers from getting bored easily and moving on to another article.

3. Never Forget to Use Links

Always include links to credible sources. Most articles that rank well on Google include at least two links in the first couple of paragraphs of the post. Therefore, if you are writing an article about a medical procedure, try to use a couple of links to medical websites such as WebMD or Mayo Clinic.

Don’t forget to also include internal links. These are links that go back to certain pages on your website. This will help your content rank on search engines like Google and will also direct your readers to other posts you have written. My recommendation is to include at least two or three internal links in your blog post.

4. Be Sure that Your Writing is Readable

There are a few ways that you can make sure your content is readable. These include using headlines, short paragraphs, various sentence lengths, bullet points, bold words, and numbered lists. After you have published, you should also check your blog post on your cellular device. It is important to do this because you want to make sure that others can access your post on their mobile device and that it looks good. A lot of people are making quick Google searches on their cell phones and may never get on a computer to read your articles, so do not forget to do this step.

5. Be Sure to Optimize Elements

After you are finished writing your blog post and have made sure that the quality is perfect for ranking on Google, go back and give careful thought to your Title, Meta Description, and Meta Title Tag. Do not overlook the value that these elements have on your ranking; they are important in helping your readers interact with your post. Make sure that each element also includes your keywords.
